£14.35 per hour plus benefits (Work Level 6C)
Part time, 18.75 hours per week, with some flexibility to travel outside core hours when needed. This may include occasional overnight stays and Saturdays, which will be financially reimbursed.

We’re looking for an LDT (long distance transporter) driver to join the Co-op Funeralcare team. Why this role matters

As an LDT driver, you’ll take responsibility for the collection of and transfer of the deceased coming into our care. You’ll collect from either; hospital, mortuaries, airports, or Funeralcare homes, ensuring accuracy and managing the paperwork trail (electronically in most cases). You’ll be working in a role requiring high levels of care and attention, customer service and autonomy, where no two days will be the same.

What you’ll do

•    Undertake driving duties anywhere in the UK, within the EU drive time directive 
•    Maintain your vehicle to the highest of standards, as well as representing the Co-op in a professional and dignified manner 
•    Transport the deceased, by way of coffin or stretcher, as required, with care into and out of your vehicle 
•    Apply the highest attention to detail on ensuring accuracy, checking and logging identification documentation as required - in line with processes 
•    Ensure stocks of PPE are replenished 
•    Communicate clearly with your wider team and coordinator, logging any issues clearly and timely

What you’ll bring

•    A full manual UK’s driving licence
•    High sense of responsibility and accountability
•    Flexibility to work sometimes at short notice
•    A passion for driving, and are content working on their own
•    A keen eye for detail and accuracy
•    A professional, yet approachable and friendly manner
•    Basic IT skills; you’re comfortable working with different IT systems, including smart phone and tablet
