Finance - Referral 

We’re always looking for talented people to join us in our Finance team, and now you can be rewarded for helping us find them.

If you refer someone who successfully joins Co-op Finance and passes their probation, you’ll receive a £500 cash reward.

How it works

It’s simple:

  1. Fill out the referral form.
  2. We’ll contact your referral and send them a link to apply.
  3. If they’re hired and pass probation, you’ll receive £500.

Who can make a referral?

This scheme is open to all Co-op colleagues.

Which roles are included?

The following roles are currently eligible for referral:

  • Senior Finance Business Partner
  • Finance Business Partner
  • Senior Finance Manager
  • Finance Manager
  • Finance Analyst
  • Senior Finance Analyst
  • Financial Accountant
  • Management Accountant
  • Accounts Assistant

If you know someone who’d be a great fit but there isn’t a suitable role available right now, you can still submit a referral—we’ll keep their details and get in touch when the right opportunity comes up.

Important to know

  • Referrals must be submitted using the official form.
  • The candidate must not have already applied for the role before being referred.
  • Only referrals made through this process will be eligible for the reward.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS  

  • At the time of making the payment both employees must still be employed by the Co-op and not under notice (excluding maternity, redundancy and ill health). 
  • Payment will only be applicable for candidates that the employee personally knows. 
  • Retrospective referrals will not be accepted, and payment will not be made where the referral has not been made via our referral form. 
  • No payment will be made if the referred candidate has already been introduced through another source (e.g. recruitment agency, direct application or referred by another colleague). 
  • There is no limit to the number of people that a colleague can refer. 
  • If two or more colleagues refer the same candidate, only the first referrer will receive the referral rewards. 
  • Referrers are still eligible for rewards if a candidate is hired for a different Finance role to the one they were originally referred for. 
  • The payment will not be made if the candidate gives notice during their first 3 months of employment. 
  • Candidates must not be sourced through a third party. 
  • Colleagues must not formally advertise vacancies on behalf of the business, either directly or via a third party. 
  • The scheme is entirely discretionary, non-contractual and does not form part of the terms and conditions of employment. 
  • The business reserves the right to withdraw, vary or amend the scheme at any time. 
  • The programme will be monitored and audited and any breach of the terms and conditions will be subject to potential disciplinary/formal action. 
  • Payment will not be made to the hiring manager of a vacancy. 
  • Employees who are responsible for recruitment or manage a team (such as HR, colleagues in the Resourcing function, hiring managers within Finance) are not eligible to participate in or benefit from this scheme. 
  • If the referred colleague has their probationary period extended or is subject to any formal disciplinary proceedings the payment will not be made until the outcome is determined.
  • Names of those referred will not be shared with other colleagues within Finance until an offer has been made.
  • Referral forms need to be completed within a week of an application for a retrospective referral to be eligible.
  • Ex-colleagues are excluded from being referred for a period of 12 months after their leave date.
  • Candidates cannot be referred for a position they've applied for in the past six months.
