We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to join Co-op Wholesale as part of the Customer Experience team. Since 1977, we’ve championed independent retailers to thrive with Nisa – and now, we’re entering a bold new chapter as Co-op Wholesale. It’s the same spirit, with bigger ambition: bringing the power of Co-op to more local businesses than ever. And with that, exciting opportunities are on the rise, like this one.

We’ve set up a brand-new Customer Experience team to make a real difference for our varied wholesale customer base, including independent retailers, corporate partners and national accounts. This team is all about bringing focus, speed, and creating new ways of working. Getting the right messages to the right people and making sure our customers feel understood.

As a Social Media Specialist you’ll shape our brand presence, always looking for new opportunities for content and engagement. This role gives you the opportunity to shape the brand’s voice and influence how we are perceived online. You’ll make sure that we deliver engaging content that matters to colleagues, customers and the external market.

What you’ll do

•    Develop and deliver a cohesive social media strategy aligned with brand and business objectives
•    Create and schedule content across platforms tailored to different audiences and campaign goals
•    Source and share partner success stories, new business wins, leadership spotlights, company and community initiatives, and behind the scenes content
•    Monitor and manage engagement, running A/B tests and understanding the outputs
•    Use analytics and insights to evaluate performance and optimise future content
•    Support crisis comms and reputation management with our PR and comms leads
•    Share best practices and contribute to building social capability across teams

This role would suit people who have

•    Proven experience managing social media in a B2B setting within brand or agency
•    Strong creative and copywriting skills with a clear grasp of tone, storytelling, and visual content
•    The ability to tailor content for different platforms
•    Confidence in using social media management and analytics tools
•    Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple partners and deadlines
•    A proactive mindset, always on the look-out for the next piece of engaging content

Why Co-op?

If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).

•    An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
•    A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
•    Coaching and training to support your career development
•    Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
