Looking for a role where information security is at the heart of everything we do? Enjoy tackling complex challenges and inspiring colleagues to stay secure? If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for an Identity Specialist to join our Information Security team in Manchester. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our identity and access management strategy, making sure our colleagues, partners, and suppliers have the right access, to the right systems, at the right time.

In this role, you’ll work across different parts of our Co-op, designing and delivering solutions that improve processes and strengthen security. From single sign-on and automated access for joiners, movers, and leavers, to role-based controls, you’ll help us make things simpler and safer.

Why this role matters

We’re in an exciting period of growth at Co-op. As the digital landscape evolves, it’s vital that we stay ahead of cyber threats. You’ll help shape our identity and access management approach, making sure the right people can securely access the right platforms. With big changes like our Cloud migration underway, this is a great opportunity to influence this and make a real difference.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain and support key systems like Active Directory, SailPoint IdentityIQ, Azure AD/EntraID, and One Identity Active Roles
  • Keep systems running smoothly, with no capacity or outstanding issues
  • Align identity platforms and capabilities with the needs of our business
  • Contribute to projects such as identity maturity initiatives, new application rollouts, and process improvements
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally to drive innovation and service improvements
  • Manage day-to-day activities with third-party providers, including escalations and knowledge sharing

What you’ll bring

  • Experience with IdentityIQ or similar identity platforms
  • Experience working on projects, including service transition
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, IdentityIQ, Active Roles
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • An open, innovative mindset and flexibility to adapt to change

We know some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every requirement. At Co-op, we’re committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly, we still encourage you to apply.

We’re also open to applications from people who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
