We’re looking for a Senior Value Strategy Manager to join our Value and Trade Planning Team at Co-op.
Our Value and Trade planning teams, are focused on improving the experience for customers and members, driving growth and profitable sales in Foods. In this role, you’ll be part of our customer leadership team, developing and owning the Value Strategy, engaging and aligning teams to ensure strategies land effectively in store.
Why this role matters
You’ll play a key role in transforming the Food Business, using customer insight and data to create clear, joined-up plans with Trading teams, ensuring we consistently do the right thing for our customers and the business.
What you’ll do
• Own, develop and bring to life the Value strategy, making sure it’s understood and executed across the Food Business aligning the relevant teams
• Develops a customer- led value proposition, translates customer insight and data into clear, joined up value strategies that directly address customer pain points
• Influence and engage senior stakeholders across Foods to ensure the customer is at the heart of decision making, continuously balancing commercial and customer outcomes
• Galvanise teams across the Value levers of Price, Promotions, Range & Quality, to develop a strategy that bridges the customer and commercial strategies
• Partner with finance, trading, and customer teams to embed a customer-first, data-led approach in all decision-making, with budgets aligned to the value strategy
• Recommend and shape changes to category roles and value levers, working through the right forums to bring others with you to drive profitable sales
• Leads engagement of the value framework to ensure a single version of the truth is embedded for what good value looks like.

• Experience leading in a customer-facing retail environment, with a genuine passion for doing the right thing for customers, alongside delivering commercial results
• The ability to think strategically, seeing the bigger picture while delivering practical outcomes in Retail
• A talent for bringing ideas to life strategy in a way that’s engaging and easy to understand
• Strong relationship-building skills, with confidence to influence and challenge positively
• Deep understanding of all key proposition, customer and commercial roles in retail
• Ability to digest complex data sources and use these to challenge the status quo
