We’re looking for a Finance Services Cash and Banking Team Manger to join the Sales to Cash team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member owners every day’.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end cash and banking process, making sure the bank and control account reconciliations for the business area(s) you support are accurate and regulatory compliant. We’ll look to you to highlight and resolve any key risks, and lead a team of talented colleagues.

Why this role matters

This role helps us make sure our finances are accurate and well-managed. By keeping strong cash and banking controls in place, and always looking to improve how we work, you’ll help us to protect the financial health of the business, meet our regulatory responsibilities, and give our leaders the insight they need to make the right decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee our manual and automatic end-to-end banking processes
  • Review bank reconciliations and resolve any issues (e.g., aged or unmatched items) promptly
  • Act as a trusted expert, handling complex cash and banking queries
  • Collaborate closely with our Treasury, AP, AR, Tax, Payroll, and Financial Control teams
  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team, helping them deliver a consistent, high-quality service

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Experience working in cash and banking within a retail environment
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and signing off balance sheets
  • An accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or be actively studying towards one
  • The ability to handle large volumes of financial data
  • Good leadership and people management skills
  • Good project management and problem-solving skills

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • Annual bonus scheme (based on individual and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
