Finance Business Partner – Co-op Wholesale
£60,000 to £65,000 plus excellent benefits including private healthcare (Work Level 5)
Location: Manchester/Scunthorpe (hybrid working – typically two to three days per week spent across our Manchester and Scunthorpe offices, with at least one day each week based in Scunthorpe)

We’re looking for Finance Business Partner to join Co-op Wholesale as part of the Finance team. Since 1977, we’ve championed independent retailers to thrive with Nisa – and now, we’re entering a bold new chapter as Co-op Wholesale. It’s the same spirit, with bigger ambition: bringing the power of Co-op to more local businesses than ever. And with that, exciting opportunities are on the rise, like this one.

As a Finance Business Partner you’ll help shape the future of Co-op. If you’re passionate about using finance to support smart decisions and drive meaningful change, this could be the role for you.

Why this role matters

At Co-op, we believe in doing business differently, putting people and communities at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping us make the most of our resources. By providing clear financial insight and challenge, you’ll support colleagues across the business to make informed decisions that deliver real value for our members, customers, and communities.

What you’ll do

  • Own financial planning, reporting and performance management for your area
  • Partner with colleagues across the business to provide financial insight and challenge to drive the business forward
  • Deliver cross-functional projects with clear, data-led analysis
  • Use financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Contribute to long-term planning and forecasting
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across different teams
  • Continuously look for ways to improve our planning and reporting processes

What you’ll bring

  • A qualified or part-qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a finance business partnering or commercial finance role
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of financial planning and reporting
  • Confidence in working with stakeholders and communicating financial information clearly
  • A proactive mindset and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Good Excel skills and familiarity with financial planning tools

If you’re looking for a role where you can grow your skills, work with great people, and help build a stronger Co-op, we’d love to hear from you.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Stream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn

A place you’ll belong

We’re building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and our support centre is an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can thrive.

If you have a disability, we’ll make reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process. We’re also proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme - if you’re disabled and you meet the minimum criteria for this job, we’ll guarantee you an interview.
