Bank Reconciliations Advisor
£25,430 - £26,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6C) 
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and at least 2 days a week in the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).  

We’re looking for a Bank Reconciliations Advisor to join the Bank Reconciliations team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op.

In this role, you’ll keep on top of bank reconciliations, and make sure we are accounting for everything correctly for our clients, customers and third-party investors. We’ll look to you to resolve queries, build relationships with internal and external partners. It’s a great opportunity for you to develop your skills as part of a busy team.

What you’ll do

• Work within a team of advisers and seniors to review and reconcile and allocate cash from multiple bank statements
• Support in the production of period end balance sheet reconciliations, analysing variances and making sure aged items are resolved
• Support in the production of query reports to colleagues, chasing up responses and acting on the information provided to resolve unreconciled bank transactions
• Make sure that financial integrity is maintained and that all reconciling items and adjustments are resolved within agreed deadlines 
• Respond to queries via email, investigating issues and resolving them in a timely manner
• Assist in the production and review of process documentation and supporting with training
• Train new and existing team members, providing support and guidance 
• Provide regular updates to team managers about any outstanding issues, and escalate problems where necessary

What you’ll bring

• Previous accountancy and reconciliations experience
• The ability to manage a large volume of transactions and understand complex processes
• Balance sheet preparation, reporting risks and opportunities 
• A high level of attention to detail
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and some experience of using SAP 
• Great communication skills
