We’re looking for a data‑driven Head of Performance, Media & Digital Marketing to join Co-op Life Services. With a refreshed operating model and a renewed focus on performance, you’ll be responsible for orchestrating how we use paid, owned and earned channels to deliver commercial results, working across high profile multichannel campaigns spanning TV, digital, search, social, affiliates, CRM and more for our Insurance, Legal Services and Funeralcare businesses.
You’ll lead a talented team across digital marketing, performance optimisation and CRM, shaping how we invest our marketing resources and driving continuous improvement through data, measurement and smart decision‑making. If you thrive in a fast‑moving, highly commercial environment and want to help us deliver meaningful services to millions of people at important moments in life, this could be the role for you.
Why this role matters
This is one of the most influential marketing roles in the Co op, shaping strategy, driving performance, and ensuring our marketing activity is efficient, compliant and impactful. You’ll manage a significant multimillion marketing budget, and work closely with our creative teams, commercial leaders, and external partners to optimise every pound we spend and turn insights into action. It's a highly visible position with exposure to senior leaders across the business.
What you’ll do
- Lead the end‑to‑end distribution and performance marketing strategy across Insurance, Legal Services and Funeralcare, ensuring activity is insight‑driven and commercially effective
- Oversee digital marketing activity including PPC, SEO, paid social, affiliates, retargeting and display, making sure that channels are optimised and delivering strong performance
- Work closely with the Creative and Design teams to translate propositions into coordinated multichannel campaigns that deliver results
- Lead performance measurement and weekly reporting, using data, analytics and optimisation techniques to inform decisions and improve return on investment
- Partner with Insurance teams and external partners to articulate marketing proposals, onboarding plans and campaign activity
- Oversee CRM and lifecycle activity, working with the team to implement Salesforce campaigns, optimise journeys and drive conversion
- Build strong relationships across Life Services, influencing senior stakeholders and working collaboratively with commercial and operational teams
- Manage agency relationships, ensuring we get the best value, expertise and performance across all channels
- Lead, coach and develop a team of specialists across digital marketing, optimisation and CRM
What you’ll bring
We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:
- Strong senior‑level experience in performance-led, multichannel marketing, ideally spanning both digital and offline channels
- A proven track record of improving marketing performance, making data‑led decisions and optimising channel mix
- Experience managing significant marketing budgets across multiple channels and business areas
- Confidence working with numbers, data and analytics, with the ability to translate insight into practical action
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and collaborate effectively at senior levels
- Experience working with agencies and third‑party partners to deliver high‑performing campaigns
- A hands‑on leadership style; you’re happy to lean in, support the team, and drive delivery when needed
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate performance, opportunities and risks to senior leaders
