As our Ecommerce Activity Planning Lead, you’ll be part of our Ecommerce leadership team, shaping and delivering our trading proposition across all Ecommerce platforms, from our own website to partners like Uber Eats, Just Eat, Deliveroo and Amazon. Working within our Web Operations team, you’ll help drive how we show up online, leading across areas like ranging, pricing, promotions, merchandising, content and customer experience, while also owning how we monetise these platforms alongside our media agency.

Why this role matters

Ecommerce is one of the most important and fast-growing areas of our business. This role offers a real opportunity to make a difference, helping us create better experiences for our customers and members, while shaping a key strategic growth area for Co-op.

What you’ll do

As part of our Ecommerce leadership team, you’ll set and deliver the trading proposition across all our Ecommerce platforms, balancing short-term performance with long-term growth. You’ll:

•    Shape our Ecommerce proposition across owned and partner platforms, ensuring it delivers against commercial and customer goals
•    Plan and deliver promotions and messaging that drive sales, increase basket size and optimise margin
•    Own customer performance metrics, such as conversion rate and web satisfaction scores
•    Work closely with our media agency to maximise monetisation opportunities across our platforms
•    Make sure work is aligned with wider Co-op marketing activity, so our messaging is consistent and impactful
•    Lead, support and develop your team, managing 4 direct reports and a wider team of 13 colleagues
•    Contribute to the wider quick commerce leadership team, helping shape the future of our Ecommerce offer

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

•    Strong eCommerce experience in a similar role within an FMCG retail or trading environment
•    The ability to work cross-functionally in a large, complex organisation
•    A knack for balancing long-term strategy with short-term trading priorities
•    Experience of leading and developing teams, creating a positive and high-performing environment
•    The confidence to cooperate at senior level, contributing to leadership conversations and influencing direction

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

•    An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
•    A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    Company car or £6,000 car allowance
•    Private healthcare for you and your family
•    Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
•    30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
•    Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
•    Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
•    24/7 colleague support service
•    Training and support for your development and career progression
•    Cycle-to-work scheme
