We’re looking for a Team Manager to join the team at our Plymouth depot.

In this role, you’ll play a key role in making our depot a great place to work for our 160 colleagues – coaching, supporting, and mentoring them to deliver a great service to our stores.

You’ll get involved across all areas of the depot, including Warehouse and Transportation, focusing on improving our ways of working and leading change projects to keep things moving forward. We’ll look to you to engage with colleagues; leading and empowering them to deliver better results week on week, and making sure that they adhere to our standards, policies and procedures.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver change initiatives that drive innovation and continuous improvement across our depot
  • Identify and explore opportunities to improve our ways of working, improving business outcomes alongside our colleagues’ wellbeing
  • Help to nurture and support a safe, inclusive, and positive working environment where colleagues can thrive, and use their voice
  • Coach and mentor your colleagues, supporting their learning and development
  • Engage with internal and external partners, developing positive working relationships
  • Work across a range of shifts within our Warehouse and Transport teams
  • Deliver within deadlines and meet critical measures

This role would suit people who have:

  • Experience mentoring and empowering a team, preferably within a logistics or FMCG background
  • The ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience reaching and exceeding critical performance measures
  • Great planning skills, organising yours and your wider team’s workloads
  • A passion for coaching and mentoring others, and supporting their career development
  • An understanding of how poor service can impact stores and customers
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge in an inclusive and productive way

Co-op is a place with purpose, so you’ll do work that matters. And in return, we’ll make sure you can thrive here. You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary (including additional shift allowances) and a benefits package which includes holidays starting from 31 days per year (including bank holidays), 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores, a pension with up to 10% employer contributions, plus:

  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Free employee assistance programme with extensive health, financial and wellbeing support
  • 24/7 access to GP appointments for you and your family
  • Access to credit unions for loans and savings, plus rental deposit loans and season ticket loans
  • Free eye tests every 2 years
  • On-site facilities including a subsidised canteen and free parking
