Transport Shift Manager
Salary: £42,000 to £50,000 plus a 5% shift premium and other great benefits (Work Level 6A)
Location: Plymouth, PL7 4JH
Contract: Full-time, 39 hours per week
Shift pattern: Flexible shift coverage (days, backs, nights) | weekend rota

We’re looking for a Transport Shift Manager to join our Plymouth depot and play a big part in delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focussed transport operations. Working closely with our Distribution Manager, you’ll lead a team of up to 90 colleagues, including 8 Team Managers, and help to make our depot a place where they can thrive.

What you’ll do

  • Lead all aspects of our transport operations during your shift hours
  • Be responsible for a team of up to 90 depot colleagues, including 8 Team Managers
  • Inspire and coach your team to deliver a high-quality and efficient transport service
  • Build and maintain a culture of safety, compliance, and belonging across the depot
  • Resolve issues and remove barriers to meet performance targets
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in a transport or retail operations environment
  • Good leadership skills, with a proven ability to support your colleagues’ development
  • The ability to successfully deliver operational changes and improvements within a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and relationships building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively
