Retail Store Planner
£24,000 to £29,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6B)
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

We’re looking for a Retail Store Planner to join our asset planning team and help deliver a range of innovative design solutions. Working closely with colleagues across our food business and external partners, you’ll make sure that a consistent Co-op identity is applied to all new and existing retail spaces.

You’ll design forward-thinking store layouts as part of the delivery of Co-op’s refit, new store, franchise, and special project programmes. Using AutoCAD you’ll create design solutions, making sure projects are effectively prioritised and aligned to Co-op blueprints and standards. If you can bring the partner management skills we need and can bring people together to formulate solutions, then we can give you the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience and build your profile in this fast-paced business.

What you’ll do

• Create new store layouts for new store, refits and other projects using AutoCAD, looking at how best to utilise the building layout and orientation, applying suitable fixtures, making sure customer circulation space is suitable and ensuring our colleagues can operate stores safely and efficiently
• Engage and work collaboratively with programme partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality schemes
• Consider the commerciality and environmental impact of the store layout.
• Present design proposals to key business partners
• Make sure that CAD drawings are prepared to a high level, which allows them to interface seamlessly with all Co-op systems and aligns with our partner standards

This role would suit people who have

• Previous experience with AutoCAD preferred or similarly complex applications
• A collaborative attitude - working together with the wider team towards a common goal
• A high level of attention to detail and organisation
• An inquisitive nature – you can think outside of the box and seek out new opportunities
• Experience of retail and knowledge of the wider retail landscape

Why Co-op?

If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).

• An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
• A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
• Coaching and training to support your career development
• Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
