We’re looking for a detail-oriented Invoice Matching Manager to oversee our Supplier Invoice Matching service within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation.
In this position, you’ll ensure that all supplier invoices are meticulously validated and verified, enabling accurate and timely processing. Your efforts will help Co-op meet its regulatory and contractual payment obligations efficiently while upholding essential financial controls.
Leading a team of 7x Invoice Matching Members, you’ll also be leading initiatives to improve processing efficiency, enhance first-time flow rates, and reduce costs, all while maintaining key creditor balance sheet controls. You’ll also manage the financial control balance sheets for GRNI (Goods Receipt Not Invoiced) and play a critical role in identifying risks and opportunities within the invoice matching process, ensuring we adhere to best practices and the required regulatory framework.

What you’ll do
- Develop a strategic plan with a 3-6 month horizon, prioritising annual improvements and identifying key opportunities for growth, along with actionable recommendations for the business.
- Oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the team, employing strong leadership skills to empower team members to achieve their annual targets based on historical performance data.
- Take charge of resource planning for your team, ensuring optimal allocation to meet operational demands.
- Engage with key customers and suppliers as needed to foster strong relationships and address any concerns.
- Ensure seamless management of the service in the absence of the Operations Manager, maintaining efficiency and continuity across all operations.
This role would suit people who have
- Expertise in Invoice Matching protocols and standards, with strong knowledge of GRNI balance sheet and finance processes.
- Part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA or AAT, or substantial relevant experience in transactional processing teams.
- Exceptional analytical and influencing skills with a results-oriented, customer-focused approach.
- Strong communication abilities at all levels, fostering effective collaboration.
- Proven team management experience, capable of motivating and inspiring team members while building trusting relationships.
