Finance Adviser – Invoice Matching
Circa £23,500 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6C)
Manchester city centre - In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office, we’ll look for you to attend the office at least 1 day a week (ideally Thursday) (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy)
We’re recruiting for a Finance Adviser to join our Invoice Matching team to help us make sure that all payments made to our Co-op Food suppliers are accurate and paid on time. You'll be working within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.
We’ll look to you to resolve queries, build relationships with internal and external partners, and make sure that invoices are always correct. It’s a great opportunity for you to develop your skills as part of a busy team.
What you’ll do
- Work as part of a team of around 5 advisers to manage all invoices for deliveries of goods going into our Co-op depots and stores
- Make sure that payments are made on time for stock that we receive
- Check that details are correct, and deal with any discrepancies
- Liaise with suppliers, depots, buying teams, and other internal departments across the company to resolve issues
- Respond to queries via email, investigating issues and resolving them in a timely manner.
This role would suit people who have
- Good finance knowledge (accounts payable, invoicing, Goods Receipting etc.)
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good general IT skills with the ability to use programmes in the Microsoft Office Package at a basic level (mainly Excel and Outlook)
- Great problem-solving skills
- Tenacity in a fast-paced environment and able to effectively manage high-volume tasks
