Depot Facilities Manager – West Thurrock
£43,000 to £52,000 plus benefits and an additional pay enhancement of £270 per out of hours on call shift (Work Level 6A)
Full-time (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday, with additional occasional out of hours on call shifts
Based at our West Thurrock depot

We’re looking for a depot facilities manager to join us and help us deliver a great FM (facilities management) service across our logistics estate. Our Co-op stores are supplied from depots across the UK – they're fast-paced environments with a strong focus on safety and colleague wellbeing. You’ll be key to making sure our depots are places that our colleagues are proud of and thrive in, allowing them to pass this fantastic service on to our stores, members, and customers.

In this role, you’ll be based at our West Thurrock depot, where you’ll have primary responsibility for facilities services. We’ll look to you to build and maintain relationships with key service users to allow operations to run effectively, oversee contractor performance and deliver service improvement projects, that align with our overall FM plan. What you’ll do

  • Provide oversight of all property-related activities on the site, operating as part of our depot operational management team and a trusted advisor on property-related matters
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners, such as logistics operations, contractors, property, and construction colleagues
  • Identify and co-ordinate responses to any property-related risks to depot operations
  • Be fully aware of all open and outstanding FM or property activity for the assigned site and liaise with relevant partners to prioritise delivery
  • Undertake formal periodic audits and daily walks/inspections to make sure that on site conditions are suitable and required works are picked up early
  • Lead on incident management for your site, co-ordinating the response to maintain/bring back to full operation as quickly as possible
  • Provide of out of hours cover (covering all depots nationally) as part of a rota

This role would suit people who have

  • Operational experience of FM
  • An awareness of supply chain management
  • Experience of working to a compliance framework, and strong risk awareness
  • Good general IT skills (you’re comfortable using programmes in the Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel and PowerPoint) 
  • A commercial approach
