We’re looking for a Seasonal Demand Planner to join Co-op Wholesale to help us order stock for delivery into our warehouse. Since 1977, we’ve championed independent retailers to thrive with Nisa – and now, we’re entering a bold new chapter as Co-op Wholesale. It’s the same spirit, with bigger ambition: bringing the power of Co-op to more local businesses than ever. And with that, exciting opportunities are on the rise, like this one.
You’ll be managing seasonal demand planning and assisting the team with their accounts as capacity allows. We’ll look to you to convert demand into supply to make sure the right products hit the appropriate warehouse at the right time, and at the right cost. If you can bring us the supply chain experience and organisational skills we need, we can offer you the chance to play an important role in the success of our business.
What you’ll do
• Purchase all stock held material for delivery into Co-op Wholesale warehousing, maximising availability whilst keeping stock to a minimum across chilled, ambient, and frozen temperature products
• Work with colleagues to improve supplier inbound performance
• Action procurement needs for Co-op Wholesale’s sales and marketing activities, and facilitate stock-building programmes where buying takes place outside normal purchasing periods (e.g. Christmas/Easter)
• Analyse actual and projected demand from partners to make sure we’ve got optimum stock availability and the highest service levels
• Facilitate annual forecasting processes with our supply base and all the necessary development, analysis and reporting
• Maintain accounts and make sure we’re working towards our stock holding targets
• Collaborate with our suppliers to secure purchase order requirements and attend ongoing reviews of their performance
This role would suit people who have
• Previous supply chain, demand planning, or stock control experience
• Strong administration skills and are proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Good organisational and analytical skills
• A knowledge of forecasting and ERP systems
• The ability to build strong relationships with internal colleagues as well as external suppliers and customers
Why Co-op Wholesale?
If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).
• An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
• A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
• Coaching and training to support your career development
• Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
