Range Analyst 
£40,000 to £48,000 plus excellent benefits (Work level 6A)  
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and coming into the office at least once a week
We’re looking for a Range Analyst to join our Range Optimisation team to support and deliver strategic range changes across our different Co-op stores. You’ll continuously improve the product assortments for our customers now and in the future.

In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with a number of internal partners, using a variety of data and insights as well as key strategic inputs to deliver a complete range assortment. We’ll look to you to balance customer needs and commercial requirements, as well as making sure our ranges are right for our store colleagues. You’ll be trained to use our tools which will help you to analyse sales and customer data and deliver category range plans. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, at the heart of delivering Co-op’s strategic plans.

What you’ll do

• Be trained to set up, deliver and review range events using our ranging software
• Work with the Commercial category teams to understand the range strategy and translate this, using logic formulas, to direct where products are sold in our estate
• Analyse large amounts of sales and consumer data, reviewing and presenting back the results to colleagues
• Continually review your work to make sure the range is aligned to the business strategy, customer needs and commercial requirements
• Share your outputs with buyers and the wider commercial team, communicating the changes you’ve made and their impact
• Follow key processes for range reviews, working to critical paths
• Make sure that our central range and merchandising strategies and principles are followed 
• Assist in category reviews and conduct post analysis to measure the effectiveness of decisions and their impact on stores

This role would suit people who have

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with partners from all levels and influence decision making
• A collaborative approach to work, with a talent for building positive relationships with colleagues across the business
• Great analytical skills, with experience of working with and interpreting large data sets 
• Commercial understanding with the ability to use data and insights to drive decision making and continuously improve processes 
• Great IT skills including, strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to produce reports and use a variety of formulas and pivot tables.
• Ability to quickly grasp new software tools and interpret results effectively.
