Manchester City Centre (Hybrid)
We’re open to applications from candidates who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.
We’re looking for an Application Engineer to join us in Manchester, as part of our wider Digital Technology & Data team, and provide technical services used by our Co-op Legal Services (CLS) colleagues. This is a hybrid role, and you’ll split your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
As an Application Engineer at Co-op, we’ll look to you to design and deliver a range of technical solutions, from software to infrastructure, that’ll be used by our colleagues in CLS. This team are currently in the process of re-platforming their Case Management Software (CMS) and you’ll play a key role in making sure this change is integrated successfully.
What you’ll do
- Design solutions for our legal CMS and workflows
- Maintain the CMS (ShareDo) and ensure we’re following the right processes at all times
- Carry-out development and coding to help deliver solutions
- Support and mentor your team and help to guide them in their development
This role would suit people who have
- Experience of CMS (e.g., ShareDo, Peppermint) development within a regulated industry
- Experience working with complex workflows
- The ability to take a concept from design through to a fully-built solution
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical language for a non-technical audience
- The ability to upskill and mentor colleagues

At Co-op, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive working environment, so if you'd like to apply for this role but your experience doesn't quite meet every point, we'd still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job or other roles we have available.
