Who we are
Co-op Technology delivers the tech that powers our Co-op, and enables our colleagues to make a meaningful difference in the world. We do this through our highly capable colleagues and partners, who are empowered with the right tools and information.
The teams that make up our Technology function include information security; engineering; enterprise architecture and design; enterprise services, and technology platforms and business partnering.
We’re a team of experts who work together in communities of practice to share skills and knowledge, learn from each other, and create career pathways for our colleagues.
What we do
Technology is at the heart of Co-op. We apply our skills to everything from day-to-day operations to major change programmes. Our teams deliver products and services that meet the needs of their users – driving both commercial returns and community benefit.
We build and support a wide range of products and services for colleagues, members and the community. Systems, platforms and services we support include all of our Co-op websites, our offers app and co-operate platform, and the many internal HR systems deployed to support our 65,000 colleagues.
The Technology team also helps to build an inclusive culture at Co-op by giving colleagues the tools they need to add value, share their knowledge and work in a transparent, collaborative way.
Who we look for
In our Technology teams we look for people who want to deliver outcomes, not just solutions. People who are curious and love learning. And people who are self-aware, ready to learn from their mistakes, and will create space for others to contribute.
We regularly recruit across a wide range of jobs – from architects and portfolio managers, to software engineers, service managers, test leads, infrastructure designers and all kinds of information security specialists.
As well as the many skillsets needed to fulfil these roles, we also need to bring in people from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives in order to achieve our goals. We’re committed to building an inclusive Technology team, and we believe all Co-op teams should reflect the diversity of the communities they serve.
