£55,000 - £60,000  plus great benefits including company car (Work Level 5) 
Remote/Field based – visiting customers frequently nationwide

Are you a champion of commercial relationships, and someone who can spot a sales opportunity from a mile away?

We’re looking for a proactive Key Account Manager to join our Co-op Wholesale team, where we support over 375 Key Account Stores  across the UK. We’re entering our next exciting phase of growth, and with that, we've got new opportunities emerging across Co-op Wholesale, like this one.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of driving profitable sales growth, securing high-value deals, and building strong, lasting relationships with key customers, managing partnerships worth £5 million to £20 million. As the strategic force behind some of our most significant accounts, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring long-term success while keeping those sales figures thriving.

What you’ll do

  • Own the relationship and performance of key accounts, ensuring retention through Long Term Agreements.
  • Achieve annual sales growth targets and drive profitable performance.
  • Expand Co-op brand penetration across your account portfolio.
  • Strategically plan and manage resources to align with business forecasts.
  • Build strong commercial relationships to enhance loyalty and minimize churn.
  • Identify new sales growth opportunities within existing accounts, especially for Co-op branded products.
  • Lead commercial reviews and Joint Business Plans to drive key business objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage contractual terms with key accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with contract commitments and drive execution excellence.
  • Project manage key account store developments and implement innovations in collaboration with other teams.

This role would suit people who have

  • Proven experience managing multi-million-pound partnerships with a strong track record in sales and growth strategies.
  • Expertise in retail negotiation, contract management, and business planning to drive commercial success.
  • Strong ability to build and manage key retail accounts and customer relationships across multi-site operations.
  • A self-motivated, strategic mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks and collaborate effectively with peers.
  • Solid knowledge of retail operations, risk management, compliance, and brand protection, with proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
