We’re looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team and take the reins on Co-op’s Corporate costs. Your mission? To help us spend wisely, make smarter decisions, and set us up for future success.
In this role, you’ll be guiding and challenging the corporate and Food support functions, ensuring we're not just tracking numbers, but making them work for us. You’ll be the one holding the business to account while keeping our forecasting and reporting top-notch. Alongside this, you’ll collaborate with the wider finance team, bringing your commercial smarts and sharp business analysis to the table.

What you’ll do
- Co-ordinate and own the group central costs budget across our corporate and Food support centre functions
- Manage the central costs rolling forecast cycle, making sure that performance outcomes are understood, and interventions are made where required
- Co-ordinate and own monthly reviews of performance, making sure that optimisation initiatives are tracked, and delivery is understood
- Develop insightful reporting to enable business teams to better manage and understand spend
- Lead efforts to prioritise and align relevant investments with corporate strategic goals
- Provide support for board, CEO, and CFO requests in relation to ad-hoc analysis and projects, preparing high-quality outputs
- Drive change to improve and simplify our existing finance processes
- Be responsible for developing a central costs team with strong commercial insight and a deep business analysis skillset to provide effective challenge and guidance across Co-op
This role would suit people who have
- FP&A experience with a relevant financial qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to build relationships with senior leaders
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and “tell the story” with financial data
- Strong analytical ability to spot trends and connect data with broader business insights
- Leadership skills to develop and grow the team, fostering collaboration and delivering results through others
