Senior Finance Business Partner
£90,000 - £95,000 plus excellent benefits including car or car allowance of £6,000, up to 10% employer pension contribution and private healthcare for you and your family (Work Level 4)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team and provide strategic guidance to senior directors at Co-op. In this role, you’ll bring your expertise to drive both strategic and operational financial planning, reporting, and decision-making. 

You’ll play a key role in supporting our finance colleagues and leaders, helping shape and execute financial strategies across large-scale projects and operating model initiatives. Working closely with leadership, you’ll help deliver impactful outcomes for our colleagues, members, and customers.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the coordination of the financial planning cycle, reporting, and performance management activities for the business area.
  • Influence and challenge directors and senior teams to ensure the effective execution of market-leading propositions and marketing activities.
  • Lead and support high-impact projects spanning multiple business areas.
  • Apply strategic thinking and business knowledge to solve complex problems, driving actionable insights to enhance performance.
  • Influence key decisions by providing analysis, offering new perspectives, and recommending strategic solutions.
  • Facilitate forward-looking discussions to support long-term scenario planning.
  • Advise on business planning assumptions, headwinds, and opportunities, driving solutions and accelerating benefit realisation.
  • Build effective business partnering relationships, ensure alignment of strategy, priorities, and resources, and mentor a team of senior finance professionals.

This role would suit people who have

  • Previous experience working in the customer-facing landscape
  • A relevant financial qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), with significant experience as a finance business partner supporting at a senior level
  • The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at executive level, challenging and influencing where necessary
  • Strong leadership skills and evidence of setting the strategic vision for teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-financial audiences in a compelling way
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, core finance and analytical skills, with an understanding of planning and forecasting processes
