Lead Financial Insights Analyst– 12 month secondment / fixed term contract

We’re looking for a Financial Insights Analyst to join us and support in analysing the impacts of in-store safety, security and crime within stores. Working alongside our Operations Team, you’ll be providing a clear analysis of our performance, translating it into accessible and insightful recommendations so that our senior leaders can use it to inform decisions that optimise the business.
As a Financial Insights Analyst, you’ll be playing a key part in the team that’s responsible for analysing performance and trends and providing insights from that data in order to plan for the future. What you’ll do
- Work closely with the Operations Innovation Development Lead to understand key projects and the analysis required to make appropriate strategic decisions.
- Work closely with our finance business partners and operations colleagues to deliver detailed and accurate reports, financial plans and insightful analysis.
- Provide variance analysis and insight across the different business areas and projects as required.
- Where necessary, assist the wider Operations Finance Team in completing key planning deliverables.
- Ensure any risk and opportunities are identified and embedded into future forecasts, presenting any financial impacts they might have.
- Support communication with the leadership teams assist them in making well informed decisions that improve business performance.
- Help to tell the story of performance of operational and security projects.
- Provide analysis and support for key projects (particularly Safer Colleagues and other aspects of retail loss), including test and learn analysis.
- Identify any new techniques and methodologies to improve insights and periodic reporting across the network.
This role would suit people who have
- A professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or are working towards it.
- Experience in financial analysis, insight, or reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and present to diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to prioritizing tasks and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
