Is juggling complex plans, managing senior relationships, and making sure things run without a hitch your bread and butter?

We’re looking for a Data and Systems Services Manager within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping service performance while guiding the team toward success and fostering strong relationships with senior leaders. You'll immerse yourself in our key business systems and domain data, working to enhance governance and drive ongoing progress across the business. By influencing both stakeholders and senior leaders, you'll lead the charge in improving risk management, data quality, and project outcomes.

This is a transformative opportunity to make a real impact in an evolving role - shaping something from the ground up and driving positive change for both colleagues and customers. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

What you’ll do

  • Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on new changes or projects involving our key business systems.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for service change requests, ensuring project impacts, process design, and resource needs are understood.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring the effectiveness and quality of delivered solutions.
  • Ensure solutions meet requirements and are aware of inter-dependencies across projects.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure service delivery aligns with current and future needs.
  • Liaise with the Business Support Services team to link planning with CBS strategy and goals.
  • Role model inclusive behaviour and promote a collaborative, respectful work culture.
  • Coach and support team members to encourage learning and development.
  • Ensure service operations comply with Co-op policies, control standards, and ways of working.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in all solutions delivered.

This role would suit people who have

  • Extensive experience in governance, project management, and strategic thinking
  • Experience managing a multiple system SME team and/or shared service environment
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and drive service delivery and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills, customer-focused mindset, and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Solid organisational knowledge, data literacy, and resilience in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Grocery Aid – 24/7 access to a range of emotional, financial, and practical support services for you and your family
