We’re looking for a motivated Advisor to join our Financial Accounting team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

In this role, you’ll support the Food financial accounting processes and ensure accuracy and timeliness in our financial controls. What you'll do

  • Calculate, process and reverse journals 
  • Complete a number of balance sheet reconciliations, making sure that all reconciling items are investigated and resolved on time
  • Use your excellent stakeholder engagement skills by managing and resolving their queries
  • Complete audit requests accurately and on-time
  • Provide cover within the team for sickness and holiday leave whenever necessary

This role would suit people who have

  • An AAT qualification, looking to study towards or currently working towards gaining this qualification
  • Basic accountancy and reconciliations experience
  • The ability to work independently when necessary as well as in part of a wider team
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – we’ll need you to be confident in manipulating formulas, using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and IF statements
  • Experience with data analysis - you're able to analyse large sets of data
  • Great communication skills up to senior level with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear way
