People Coordinator - Thurrock (Mon-Fri)

We’re looking for a flexible, curious, confident and collaborative People Coordinator to join Co-op’s People team and support our Logistics network. With guidance from our Senior People Business Partner and wider team, we’ll look to you to provide people support and guidance on our people policies, processes and employee relations cases, as well as supporting the landing of new initiatives designed to enhance our colleague experience and drive leadership capability.
You’ll build strong relationships with the leaders you support on site along with the wider People team, supporting the national logistics network. This is a perfect step-in role to the world of HR, providing an opportunity to make a genuine impact on the delivery of our people strategy and vision.
What you’ll do
- Provide HR and employee relation insight and guidance on people plan priorities across a range of people focused activity such as performance, talent, engagement, attendance and reward with support from wider HR and ER teams
- Build and maintain productive relationships with our union partners, internal business leaders and wider teams to support initiatives and strategies such as transformational change
- Proactively identify areas of focus through insight and data and identify opportunities to optimise processes
- Signpost managers to the tools and services available to drive a self-serve culture in relation to the full range of people activity
- Make sure that Co-op’s vision, values, and dedication to inclusion are integrated into the day-to-day mindset of teams and managers have the tools to drive a self-serve culture for people activity
- Work as part of an agile People team, travelling as required to other Co-op sites for monthly/quarterly meetings with flexibility to provide in-person support across all 3 shifts
This role would suit people who have
- Experience of building relationships, challenging and facilitating resolutions where necessary
- Experience or a keen interest with working in a people-focused or customer-facing environment
- Strong organisational skills and enthusiastic to learn
