Location Planning Analyst – South  
£32,000 to £40,000 plus amazing benefits (Work Level 6A)
Field-based with travel across the South of the UK (Full UK drivers licence is essential for this role)

We’re looking for a Location Planning Analyst to join our property team here at Co-op. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

We’ll look to you to help us find great new location opportunities through providing insight on potential sites to help us grow and optimise our food estate. You’ll look at different factors including demographics, affluence, competition, and lifestyle to determine the suitability and success of different locations, and make sure each store meets the needs of its local community. What you’ll do

•    Provide location analysis using our Geographical Information System (GIS), with support from the wider team, including mapping and demographics to support the acquisitions process within your geographic region
•    Provide sales forecasts for new stores, extensions, relocations and downsizes making sure our property pipeline and estate are fit for purpose for our food estate
•    Deal with ad-hoc requests from the business in relation to location analysis and insight within your region
•    Visit stores, and strategy areas within your region to assess competitor risks and opportunities and identify the potential impact on our stores and pipeline
•    Present your findings to senior leaders to gain approval for your recommendations
•    Work to deadlines and manage your workload effectively with support from your line manager

This role would suit people who have  

•    Experience of using GIS systems
•    Basic Microsoft Excel skills, and are confident in analysing data 
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence key partners
•    The ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities at any one time with great attention to detail, planning and organisational skills
•    Excellent team working skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships 
•    Some knowledge of the food retail landscape across the UK
