Are you a confident communicator with a talent for building strong relationships?

At Co-op Wholesale, we’re looking for an Advertising Media Account Executive to join us in our Media Centre team. Since 1977, we've empowered independent retailers through Nisa. Now, as Co-op Wholesale, we're expanding our reach and ambition, bringing the power of Co-op to more local businesses across the UK.  This role is part of our exciting new chapter.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with suppliers to promote and sell media advertising space across our wholesale channels, including owned and paid for print and digital channels.

Focus on media sales and supplier relationships – think commercial campaigns, not content creation. You'll manage advertising income for key product categories, drive supplier investment in our media opportunities, and co-ordinate multiple advertising campaigns throughout the year. Strong organisation and a goal-focused mindset are essential.

This is a great chance to make a real impact, gain hands-on experience in advertising sales and collaborate with big brands. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Key responsibilities

  • Handle supplier calls and answer questions
  • Take media bookings and provide booking support for suppliers
  • Deliver media income aligned to targets and plans for specific categories
  • Liaise with internal teams, including Trading and Marketing, to make sure we can activate media bookings at the correct time
  • Check supplier artwork details are correct and supplied to relevant teams for campaign launches
  • Create key internal briefing documentation needed to deliver supplier media activity
  • Analyse and report on supplier activity

Ideal candidate profile

  • The ability to build successful relationships with suppliers and internal partners
  • Experience/understanding in advertising/media sales, business development or a related field
  • Experience working in a target driven environment with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Why Co-op?

If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
