Undergraduate Junior Buyer
£23,400 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6C)
12-month work placement (starting June 2025)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)

We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Undergraduate Junior Buyer to join our Buying team in Manchester on a 12-month work placement. As our Undergraduate Junior Buyer, we’ll look to you to support with the development of product and supplier categories that drive commercial value and meet the needs of our customers and members.

What you’ll do

  • Support the development and delivery of our category strategies
  • Plan and manage projects, collaborating with different teams across Co-op as well as our suppliers
  • Facilitate meetings and support negotiations
  • Analyse the current market environment and the potential impact of change

This role would suit people who

  • Are currently in their second year of studying towards a business-related undergraduate degree
  • Have good communication and relationship-building skills
  • Are passionate about food and developing their career
  • Have good problem-solving and project management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint)
