£55,000 to £65,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 5)
Permanent – Full-time, 37.5 hours
Manchester City Centre – hybrid working between home and the office, especially in the initial period in the role

We’re looking for a Portfolio Strategy Manager to join our Property Strategy, Insight and Change team in Manchester.

At Co-op, we have one of the UK’s largest and most complex estate portfolios, and you’ll play a key role in making sure that our stores and Funeralcare homes are best placed to meet the needs of our customers, member-owners, and communities.

In this role, we’ll look to you to use your strategic thinking and project management skills to provide the insights and recommendations that’ll help shape our property strategies for business areas such as Food, Funeralcare, Logistics and the non-trading property estate. This is a fantastic chance to build a rewarding career with us and make a real impact to the way we do business.

What you’ll do

•    Help to develop and document Co-op’s overall property strategy, communicating this effectively to senior partners
•    Work collaboratively with teams and leaders across the wider business to support the development and evolution of Co-op Food, Funeralcare and Logistics strategies e.g. our investment and divestment plans
•    Provide input into the corporate occupancy and non-trading strategies
•    Own the design and end-to-end management of strategy projects
•    Partner with other business areas to provide location insights and recommendations for larger projects
•    Work alongside our finance teams to develop a 5 year property capital plan, and lead effective annual post-investment reviews

This role would suit people who have

•    Experience working within a strategy-based role; using insight to drive decision-making
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information to a non-technical audience
•    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use a range of data to draw out valuable insights
•    Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint)
•    Good relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge colleagues of all levels of seniority in an inclusive way

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:
•    Private healthcare
•    An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
•    A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
•    Coaching and training to support your career development
•    Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
