Information Security Solution Designer
£55,000 to £65,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)
Manchester City Centre (hybrid working)

We’re open to applications from candidates who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.

We’re looking for an Information Security Solution Designer to join our team in Manchester. In this role, you’ll lead the design of information security solutions, collaborating with colleagues from our architecture and technical teams to make sure these are delivered successfully. If you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, this is a great opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of our information security capabilities and help to reduce cyber risks across Co-op. This a hybrid role, and you’ll spend at least 1-4 days per month working from the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Co-op to understand the solution design requirements for each project
  • Partner with our project, service, and technical teams (e.g., networks, storage, data centres, cloud, etc.) to provide a complete view of all information security requirements
  • Ensure that all designs are coherent, consistent, safe, and secure
  • Support projects through to implementation and resolve any issues or challenges throughout

This role would suit people who have

  • Experience working across various information security domains (e.g., client, storage, firewall, etc.)
  • A strong understanding of information security architecture and design principles
  • Familiarity with both agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Awareness of the current trends and developments within information security
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate technical language for a non-technical audience

We know that some people are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet all the criteria in the job description. At Co-op, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive working environment, so if you'd like to apply for this role but your experience doesn't quite meet every point, we'd still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job or other roles we have available.

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Grocery Aid – 24/7 access to a range of emotional, financial, and practical support services for you and your family
