Health, Safety, & Security Manager - Funeralcare
£42,000-£48,000 plus excellent benefits, Work level 6A

Manchester city centre – hybrid working with some travel to the Glasgow Coffin Factory for site visits
We’re looking for a Health, Safety, and Security Manager to join our Funeralcare Risk team.
In this role, you’ll provide operational health, safety, and security support for our Coffin Factory operations, alongside designing and delivering nationwide initiatives to improve how our Funeralcare business manages health, safety, and security. You don’t need knowledge of Funeralcare operations for this role, providing a fantastic chance to develop your skills within a key area of our business.
What you’ll do
• Visit the Coffin Factory site regularly and engage with the leadership team and operational colleagues, providing colleagues with instructions about how to safely complete work tasks
• Complete risk assessments for Coffin Factory activities, identifying significant hazards, evaluating the risks, and selecting control measures and continuously improving these
• Chair the Coffin Factory Health and Safety Committee, and deliver on any outputs and issues from this
• Investigate and report on accidents that happen at the Coffin Factory, identifying the immediate, underlying and root causes, and providing recommendations to prevent recurrence
• Scope, design and deliver business initiatives to improve how Funeralcare manages health, safety and security
• Analyse business data to identify business improvement opportunities and deliver on planned activity
• Line manage one colleague, leading and developing them in an inclusive way
This role would suit people who have
• A minimum of a level 3 risk or safety qualification
• Experience of using incident databases
• Good analytical skills – you’re confident in using Excel and you can identify trends in data to drive improvements
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to have challenging conversations
