£60,000 to £66,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)

We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to join us in Manchester to play a key role in partnering our funeral plan business; responsible for around £100mn of annual sales. We’ll look to you to own the funeral plan commercial budget as well as supporting our commercial teams to deliver against targets.

As a Finance Business Partner at Co-op you’ll also provide insights into our commercial performance and look for new opportunities where we can deliver value. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

What you’ll do

  • Build and manage effective relationships with colleagues of all levels of seniority within our Funeralcare business area
  • Assist our Commercial team in meeting targets by offering financial insight, explaining variances in commercial data and costs, and monitoring regulatory compliance metrics
  • Provide actionable insights and reports to colleagues, including those at Director-level, to minimise risks and maximise opportunities
  • Lead problem-solving support in a programme/project capacity, ensuring control and achievement of desired outcomes
  • Support longer-term scenario planning and resolution of business problems with forward looking insight and business relevant knowledge

This role would suit people who have

  • Experience in a Business Partner role
  • Experience working in a large-scale and complex commercial environment and managing relationships with multiple partners
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g. PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance audiences
  • Good relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
