Engineering Design & Performance Manager (Mechanical)
£55,000 - £65,000 plus benefits (Work level 5)

We’re looking for an Engineering Design and Performance Manager to provide technical guidance in respect of mechanical building engineering services to our diverse property portfolio. You’ll advise on maintenance and design standards, technical specifications and compliance obligations across the fixed asset base. You’ll be the subject matter expert in mechanical building engineering services with a solid understanding of legal compliance. We’ll look to you to provide technical leadership across the organisation and drive innovation into our estate. It’s a big job, as we have a complex and diverse estate, but it’s an opportunity for you to make a huge impact for our Co-op.
What you’ll do- Provide technical input into Co-op Property, with a key focus on driving change, innovation and commercial performance of the property function
- Provide technical sign off to all property investment work streams, including planned and unplanned asset replacement
- Lead on our net zero transition as a Co-op by supporting investments, leading on innovation and undertaking test and trails on emerging low carbon technologies
- Work cross functionally and collaborate within Property, providing meaningful insights and advice to colleagues in different teams, such as commercial, procurement or construction supply chain among others
- Lead on technical investigation, innovation and continuous improvement to make sure that Co-op estates and facilities standards keep up with best practice and international and British standards
- A degree in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline and either a Chartered Engineer or leading towards ECUK registration
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, design, specification and maintenance requirements
- Great communication and engagement skills, with the ability to forge meaningful relationships with both internal and external partners
- A proven background working with large and complex organisations with a diverse property portfolio
