Claims Services Manager

£40,000 to £50,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)

We’re looking for a Claims Services Manager to join our Manchester team. You'll be working closely with our Senior Insurance Manager to ensure that our claims plan is not only delivered, but delivered well.

You’ll also guide the wider business on claims-related matters, lead focus groups, and represent us at risk forums, sharing your expertise without putting anyone to sleep. Plus, you’ll support and train our Claims Administrator to keep everything on track.

What you’ll do

  • Be the main point of contact for our contracted insurance claims handlers Clyde & Co and other suppliers such as Sedgwick and FMG.
  • Work closely with the Claims Administrator to ensure that all claims investigation information requests are responded to effectively.
  • Lead on complex claims that fall outside any delegated authority arrangements 
  • As our subject matter expert on insurance claims, advise guide colleagues across the wider business on claims related matters .
  • Lead our claims focus groups and actively participate in Co-op risk forums sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Provide training and support to the Claims Administrator 

This role would suit people who have

  • A background in insurance claims and claims management
  • Knowledge of corporate insurance programmes and a good understanding of claims practices and procedures (e.g. EL, PPL and Third Party Motor)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to translate often complex language for non-technical audiences
  • Good relationship skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively.
