CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

In this role, we’ll look to you to support the Record to Report Manager, taking ownership of account reconciliations to make sure they’re accurate and up to date. If you’re looking to develop your reconciliation skills or you’re working towards gaining your AAT qualifications, then this role will provide great experience to support this. You’ll also have an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to SAP, and to work in the wider Financial Accounting team.

What you'll do

• Produce management information reports
• Complete and query control account reconciliations
• Be responsible for accurate completion of cross system reconciliations
• Co-ordinate the resolution and escalation of issues arising on a day-to-day basis, including resolving errors within our ecommerce food store offering
• Collate, extract and interpret data from multiple source systems to provide summary management information via various reporting techniques to support financial control
• Demonstrate and contribute to a continuous improvement ethos and way of working

This role would suit people who have

• Previous accountancy and reconciliations experience, or you’re working towards your AAT qualification
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (you’re comfortable using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS and writing formulas) with the ability to analyse large sets of data
• Great communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear way
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• A flexible and adaptable attitude with a passion for self-development

Why Co-op?

If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).

• An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
• A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
• Coaching and training to support your career development
• Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
