Legal Quality Auditor
Starting from £32,000 plus excellent benefits including no billable targets (Work Level 6A)
We’re now working in a hybrid way, with colleagues dividing their time between home and any of our offices in Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, or Stratford upon Avon.

We’re looking for a Legal Quality Auditor to join our Co-op Legal Services team.

In this newly created role, you’ll work closely with our estate planning team to quality check the conversation between our estate planning consultants and our clients from a legal, risk and compliance perspective. If you identify opportunities for improvement, we’ll look to you to provide relevant feedback alongside designing and delivering training where required. You’ll directly contribute to making sure our clients have the best experience possible, as well as mitigating risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and helping us to maximise commercial success. There’s no billable targets or chargeable hours within this role, so if you have strong technical knowledge in estate planning, we can offer you the chance to develop your training skills whilst making a positive impact on the personal development of our consultants.

What you’ll do

•   work with the Legal Standards Principal and consultant managers to identify the core listening you’re going to do
•   quality check consultant calls to make sure our clients are receiving legally accurate information and we’re providing the best product for them, as well as meeting our risk, regulatory and compliance requirements 
•   provide guidance to our customer facing consultancy team to make sure that clients leave with peace of mind, and they received an excellent standard of care 
•   identify and analyse where legal information has been misrepresented or incorrectly applied, either on an individual or trend basis, and make sure this is addressed through feedback, training, and process amends
•   prepare training and deliver upskilling to the consultants mostly virtually, addressing knowledge gaps and increasing their ability and confidence to identify and promote products that meet the clients’ needs 

This role would suit people who have

•   qualified as a private client solicitor, TEP qualified or equivalent experience 
•   strong technical knowledge in estate planning and tax planning
•   experience of client-facing advising and instruction taking
•   a solid understanding and adoption of SRA Standards and Regulations
•   great written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present and deliver training in an engaging way and build positive relationships with colleagues
•   a passion for independent study and ongoing professional development
