Our data teams work in flexible and versatile groups, combining various skills and knowledge. We’ve created a culture of continuous learning and innovation, supporting colleagues with development, training, and professional qualifications. We've also built a centre of excellence for data, making sure we use our data effectively to provide more value to everyone involved.
Our Data team is made up of two main parts: Data Enablement and Advanced Analytics & Insight.
Data Enablement
The Data Enablement team makes sure our data is managed effectively and builds the infrastructure needed to help us use it effectively across the business. This team’s main purpose is to make sure data is at the heart of our colleagues’ decision-making. Their skills include data strategy, data management, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, and promoting data understanding.

Data Scientist
- What they do: Develop data science techniques and valuable products that help colleagues make quicker, more intelligent business decisions on a large scale
- Skills they need: Experience using machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to business problems. Data Scientists also tend to need good numerical skills, with the ability to understand user needs and offer data-driven solutions and recommendations
BI Developer
- What they do: Create dashboards and reports that allow our colleagues to understand performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Skills they need: Good relationship-building and interpersonal skills; enhancing their ability to build a detailed understanding of user needs. BI Developers also utilise data modelling and visualisation skills to share data in a way that drives action.
