We offer competitive salaries, and many colleagues can participate in our annual incentive scheme, which is based on colleague and company performance. So when Co-op grows, you enjoy the benefits. The amount of bonus you receive depends on your salary band.

We also offer a pension scheme with a total contribution from the Co-op of up to 10%, as well as an interest-free rental deposit scheme, travel season ticket loans, 24-hour access to free money support, and for colleagues who want to save or need help managing debt we have savings and loan products which can be deducted from your pay.

Health

We want you to stay happy and healthy. So you’ll get between 24 and 28 days holiday – increasing by a day each year you’re with us, up to a maximum of 30-32 days. And even better, we offer a cycle to work scheme; 24-hour access to free health and wellbeing support; for those based in Angel Square - discounted membership to a state-of-the-art gym; and free healthcare (depending on your salary band).

Discounts

We offer a 10% discount on Co-op Food, 5% discount on Co-op Electrical online, 25% off home insurance – plus discounts on legal services and funeral plans. You’ll also get access to a perks platform, giving you discounts and offers from well-known brands on things like shopping, travel, eating out, theatre tickets and broadband.

Maternity Leave

Everyone at Co-op gets 52 weeks maternity leave. We also offer enhanced maternity pay, depending on how long you’ve worked for us and your average weekly earnings. If you qualify for this, for the first six weeks of your maternity leave you’ll receive full pay, including any bonuses, followed by six weeks full pay without bonuses. For the next 28 weeks you’ll get statutory maternity pay, or 90% of your full pay, whichever’s the lower amount.

The Co-op Volunteer Programme

As a community-based business, we want to build a brighter future for everyone. That’s why we encourage everyone to take an active role in their local areas. So, you’ll have two community days every year, when you’ll have the chance to actively support your local Co-op cause.

Career Progression

At Co-op, there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and take your career in new directions. Your manager will help you to build a personal development plan, while you work with coaches and mentors of all types of experience.
