Senior Digital Optimisation Manager
Circa £60,000 plus benefits (Grade D)

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Optimisation Manager to join Co-op’s Digital team and help us to make sure that we’re more visible and relevant to customers and members than ever before. Our Digital team has a meaningful role to play in ensuring that Co-op is fit for the future. We’ll look to you to help us to develop and implement effective search engine and conversion rate optimisation strategies that will deliver against our business goals. As a Senior Digital Optimisation Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with teams and partners spanning the breadth of the business to make sure that our website is fully optimised. You’ll act as a role model, inspiring a strong organisational culture that aligns with Co-op’s purpose and values, and will lead and support a team of direct reports to maintain excellent service delivery. Making the most of our digital offering is high on the agenda as we work to provide solid foundations for our future success, and we’ll look to you to drive innovation and deliver solutions that are tailored to meet specific business needs.
What you’ll do
●proactively review Co-op’s web estate to spot opportunities to improve our users experience and commercial performance
●partner with people and teams across the business including IT, Marketing, and Web Development to share expertise and information and support effective decision-making
●manage a team of up to 6 direct reports, providing guidance and supporting in the implementation of optimisation plans
●be a subject matter expert of Co-op’s web estate, and build an innovative optimisation plan for the business
●be proactive and timely in recommendations to our partners within the Co-op on any impacts to our web traffic that may be detrimental or advantageous
●build strong connections with search engines directly and via our digital marketing agencies
This role would suit people who have
●significant experience in web optimisation
●experience of directing a team with the ability to steer focus and direction
●line management experience would be desirable
●the ability to work with partners across the business and influence people at all levels
●clear sense of direction and a solution driven mind-set
●commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge when necessary
