We’re looking for a claimant employment solicitor to join our Co-op Legal Services team.

In this role, you’ll provide outstanding customer care across a varied and complex case load, using your professional expertise to reach a constructive resolution. We’ll also look to you to keep up to date with insights and opportunities in the market to make sure we’re getting the most out of our business partner relationships. You won’t need to bring a following of clients with you as we use innovative technology to support your delivery, allowing you to focus on supporting our customers. 

What you’ll do:

•    line management responsibilities for a small team, developing them in an inclusive way
•    work closely with our existing business partners through continued growth of the department, using market insights to advise on opportunities to improve
•    provide advice to clients around employment law matters via phone, email and letter, and face to face meetings
•    draft ET1 claim forms and grounds of claim
•    handle disclosure and compile documents for hearings in tribunal and county court
•    take and draft witness statements, conduct preliminary hearings, attend court and conduct advocacy 
•    advise and represent clients in settlement agreements and negotiations
•    assist senior team members with more complex claims when required (e.g. discrimination, equal pay, whistleblowing and TUPE)
•    manage workload effectively making sure that targets are met, and case progression is clear

This role would suit people who have:

•    post qualification experience as a claimant employment solicitor
•    experience in contentious employment law
•    previous experience of building business partner relationships 
•    the ability to build meaningful professional relationships with a range of people
•    good general IT skills with the ability to use a case management system
•    strong written and verbal communication skills
•    excellent attention to detail
